Listed below are some session topics suggested by educational leaders and attendees when they completed the online Conference Survey. It is through this feedback that we keep the Conference relevant. If you or someone you know is interested in presenting, please fill out the on-line presenter application.
We are interested in presentations that address:

Conference Strands: Character Education (CE)
• School Climate/Culture - Strategies to build a caring school community, how to develop autonomy, belonging and competence to intrinsically motivate people to do the right thing.
• Character Education and Common Core State Standards.
• Unity/Team building activities -relationship building strategies for staff and students.
• Research/Data driven decision making - Share proven frameworks, strategies, resources that have positively impacted academic achievement, behavior and culture/climate.
• Curriculum Integration -C E aligned with Common Core Standards/GLE’s, lesson plans for all subject areas-Math etc, and strategies to close the academic gap.
• Bully Prevention - Proactive strategies to prevent bullying and develop empathy, how to safely turn a by-stander into an up-stander, Cyberbullying and how it negatively affects students in and out of school.
• Service Learning -Steps, strategies and resources for a successful service learning process. Connect the curriculum with real life issues, develop student empathy and leadership.
• Community Partners -How to gain parent/community support and understanding of CE initiatives. Enhance 2-way communication and all stakeholder involvement.
• Staff buy-in -How to get shared leadership, ownership and vision of your CE initiatives. Strategies to lead a change/growth model in your building.
• Global -Strategies to change the world through CE. What are CE trends and initiatives in other parts of the world? How can we positively support each other through technology?
• Student Leadership and Empowerment -How to provide all students opportunities to develop leadership skills? Brain research; How do students learn and how to develop intrinsic motivation?
Attendees also expressed a preference for hands-on, activity-based formats with ample handouts. Many educators share what they have learned with others, and handouts are very helpful.
Remember that up to three presenters per breakout session are eligible for a discounted Conference Fee of $260.
