Description: WHEELS offers a comprehensive focus that builds community on the bus. Envisioning buses as classrooms on wheels, this approach recognizes drivers as the first educators students meet in the morning. They are partners with school personnel and parents in reinforcing the core values of the school community. Workshop components comprise:
• Ways bus drivers connect with students, parents and the community
• Ways the school community supports and includes bus drivers
• Ways they are supported by Administrators, the School and Students.
• Clear Expectations for Character & Behavior
• Lessons developed for classrooms
• Essential value of adult role modeling
• Bus Buddies, Bus Captains and Bus Jobs
• Developing a Code of conduct
• Surveys/Evaluation Measures
