Description: Explore a research-proven framework for character education that increases students' sense of belonging, autonomy, integrity and academic performance. This workshop introduces each of the "Ten Essential" components that infuse character education into academic learning and the life of a school. Combining direct teaching, interactive experiences, videos, and reflection, this session
• Shows how to build community around core values and breathe life into them
• Shares lessons that integrate character education and meet Common Core standards
• Explores Service Learning and how to develop strong curricular connections
• Expands the concepts of Student Leadership

This workshop is one of three required for Basic Certification in Character Education. The other two are Character Development & Education with Dr. Marvin Berkowitz and Effective Methods with Amy Johnston.
