Character Fitness Recognition

The St. Louis Rams and CHARACTERplus have partnered to recognize CHARACTER FITNESS MODEL SCHOOLS.

Applications are due March 15, 2013

The Launch at Rams Park on September 21 will present best practices from the 2011 Model Schools and many resources to encourage your creativity and collaboration.

This recognition honors schools that have infused character fitness --combining health, nutrition, character development and physical exercise--
into their school culture and throughout the year.

Model Character Fitness Schools provide a holistic approach by...
1. Combining multiple strategies and programs to create a yearlong emphasis on character and fitness
2. involving teachers in advisories, core and encIre curricular areas (i.e., teachers introduce movement breaks; they coordinate to take turns assigning "activity homework")
3. Developing service learning projects that are health-related and/or physically beneficial (i.e., cancer awareness, Special Olympics, Hoops for Heart, Read, Right, Run, etc.)

The Recognition honors all schools who achieve a mastery rating by judges.

Schools who earn recognition as a CHARACTER FITNESS SCHOOL will receive

a banner

tickets to attend a Fall 2012 Rams game

invitation to co-present at the CHARACTERplus Conference June 17-19, 2013 and the Fall 2013 launch of Character Fitness.
