RESULTS

CHARACTERplus is a rare breed in the field of professional development. It does not sell a curriculum or a program, but offers membership in a collective that believes in a process powerful enough to transform school climate.

Members have unlimited access to national experts, the latest research in the field, the theory of moral and character development, best practices, skill training, training modules, climate survey tools, and regular networking.

The process is defined as The CHARACTERplus Way. Two federal studies conducted over a four-year period with 40 and 64 Missouri schools respectively show

Significant academic improvement: as much as 54% in math and 47% in communication arts as measured by the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). Research results summarized (40 schools).

Improved Discipline:discipline referrals decreased 41% with an overall difference betweeen treatment and control schools of 63%. Research results summarized (64 schools).

Statistically significant increases in staff-parent relations, school leadership, staff collaboration, classroom strategies and students' demonstration of good character and democratic values. See results of both research studies linked above.
