The Digital Citizenship Middle School Student Summit has been designed with greater opportunity for collaboration, innovation and transformation. Our comprehensive approach will foster a culture of students who are Resilient, Empathetic, Authentic, Leaders and REAL allies positively influencing their peers both on and off line. Methods and practices for both personal actions and school wide culture will be addressed by practicing digital wellness and modeling positive online behaviors.
Informed by the latest research on digital citizenship and aligned to ISTE Standards, this summit offers 21st century learners tools for success as they navigate decisions and personalize their learning. Teams will walk away with organically developed school-wide practices that promote mutual respect and positive online behaviors and inspire more REAL allies within school communities.
Student leadership teams should include one sponsor (administrator, counselor or student council advisor) and a team of 5-7 student leaders so personal and building action plans can be created. Digital Citizenship resources and books will be shared with each school team.
